Web-based tool drives design efficiencies
A new web-based design data management tool has been claimed to offer savings in time and money in the design process.
Unveiled by MJ Medical to its international markets last month, OSU (Online Stakeholder Update) was developed according to conclusions drawn from the company’s recent review of the data management element of the hospital design process.
“Utilising the lessons learnt from our extensive experience in this area, we set out to determine how the design team could be more efficient in managing the interdependent design data contained within the Room Data Sheets” explains Danny Gibson, technical director at MJ Medical. “Through OSU, MJ Medical offers clients considerable savings in time and effort through reducing the quantum of meetings required, whilst significantly improving the accuracy of Room Data Sheet (RDS) which in it’s own right reduces the overall time required to achieve clinical sign off for the design. As cost control and process efficiency becomes ever more centre stage, OSU is a powerful tool.”

• Provides a comprehensive audit trail from conception to completion of the project.
• Ability for Clients to view real time changes and utilise RDS data at any time, without having to wait for the next formal issue of Room Data Sheets.
• Dual security permissions ensure data integrity at all times.
• Enables flexible working conditions by allowing users and clients to access data remotely.
